Taken By Force ”(1977) featured new drummer Herman Rarebell (born November 18, 1949) and great songs like“ We’ll Burn The Sky ”or“ I’ve Got To Be Free ”. The album was very well received by his fans but Roth was not enthusiastic about the sound paths of the band, and after the Japanese tour in 1978, he left the group to form Electric Sun. His ability on the guitar can be seen in the essential direct “Tokyo Tapes” (1978). Michael Schenker, on the other hand, due to his conflictive character that caused him fights with Phil Mogg (UFO vocalist) and his excess in alcohol consumption, he left the English band and returned to Scorpions to collaborate on "Lovedrive" (1979) , LP which also featured Roth's replacement, Matthias Jabs (born October 25, 1955). This work performed well commercially but pales in comparison to his earlier works. The same year as the release of the album "Savage Amusement", the Scorpions performed with great success in the USSR, being the first western rock heavy metal band name to play on Soviet soil.
In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell and in 1990 Scorpions released the LP "Crazy World" (1990), an album co-produced by Keith Olsen (a collaborator of Whitesnake, The Babys, Pat Benatar, Foreigner or Fleetwood Mac) which includes one of his greatest hits, the ballad with political-social commentary "Wind Of Change". The single reached number 1 worldwide.
